Confession: I am not a studio photographer. Nearly all of the photography experience I've collected thus far have been on-location. Weddings, events, environmental portraits... I usually go to where the action is, not vice-versa. Jessi needed something different though. Her personality is big- one that stands on its own- and I felt she would be best captured on clean background void of distracting elements. Jessi mentioned to me how much she loved the Saturday Night Live cover portraits that are displayed on the show just before commercial breaks, So, inspired by those I set out to try something a little outside of my box of familiarity. We had a blast. I set up in my garage and we had us a little studio photoshoot. I learned that Jessi is a VERY talented artist. She busted out a ukulele and sang the most perfect little song that she wrote herself! Don't be surprised if you see one of these photos on her album cover soon. She's good. She's going places, and I can't wait to see her rock the world (metaphorically, but also quite possibly literally).
