It was such a whirlwind of a year, both personally and professionally. I witnessed the birth of our first child, Evelyn, and found out that we are expecting another one next year! My business has grown, and my craft has expanded into the wonderful world of film photography. In just this past year I've learned how to shoot, develop, and scan my own film. 10 of the 13 images that I chose to represent this year were shot on film, so that gives a good picture of my enthusiasm and dedication to the medium!
Looking back over my favorite images of the year, one theme clearly rose to the surface. This was the year of portraits. I seemed to put more focus on creating portraits, though not exactly on purpose. I was just drawn to them. Comparing this years images to last, there is more intimacy to them. I became more comfortable with photographing people, and I think it shows in my work. My passion for photography evolved into a passion for people. I developed great relationships with each and every one of my clients and cannot wait to see what 2014 has in store. One thing is certain: this 'photography thing' shows no signs of slowing down. I am truly blessed.
